MAC Lipstick: Pink Pearl POP

Hello Everyone!! Well it is another bright sunny day here in bonny Scotland so after this I might just laze about in the sunshine for a while. As I am now officially off work for 11 days I am treating myself to a little manicure, my nails are actually long for a change.

I had a back to MAC last week and decided to get this lipstick which I was immediately drawn to. It is such a pretty pink for summer and I have nothing like this in my collection so I thought it would be a good little addition. Unfortunately, during the making of this blog post I broke it! DA DA DAAAAA!!! Gutted. Anyways it is still very much usable, I just stuck the actual lipstick back into the tube I will have to be extra carful when using it.

As this lipstick is too pretty not to share I thought I would show it to you with some swatches, enjoy...

As you can see this lipstick is very shimmery and had a slight sparkle imbedded which I find quite unusual for a cream sheen texture. The swatch picture doesn't actually do this product much justice as it appears much brighter on the lips. If you would like to see more of these quick little posts please let me know.

Lime Crime Lipsticks

Lime Crime lipsticks, probably one of last years most hyped up products online. Due to the fact that everyone and their dog was talking about them I became one of the many many people that gave in and purchased them. Oh the power of the internet. So just to state, I have had these lipsticks for quite a while now and, to be honest, they are not up there with my
most worn BUT they are cute to look at.

I haven't included any swatches in this post because they didn't turn out so well, you get the general idea of what the colours look like here.

Like most, the packaging was the main thing that initially attracted me to these lipsticks. Let's be honest a pretty sparkling unicorn would get anyone right? When these arrived I was slightly disappointed to to be frank. The actual lipstick packaging to me felt lightweight and a bit cheap, when you twist the lipstick up it doesn't take much effort and has a slight clicking noise (Okay maybe I'm nitpicking a bit but for the money you would expect this from a cheaper branded lipstick). I got the shades Geradium and Babette, Geradium impressed me the most out of the two. Both colours feel the same in terms of texture they are very creamy (too creamy for my liking) and appear to have high pigmentation. On application they didn't appear to slide on the lips as well as people were claiming, for me they were a little trickier to apply and I was finding myself using a lip brush, I often use a lip gloss on top of these lipsticks purely because they don't look far too over done one me if that makes sense.

These colours are quite generic now, I'm sure you can pick something similar up in your local drug-store however, if its the packaging you want I will admit that Lime Crime's packaging is unique and I have yet to come across anything even slightly similar. All that being said, I probably will end up buying some more of these lipsticks as I'd like to compare the textures plus, if anything they make my dresser look nice.

A Little bit of Luxury

The glorious YSL Rouge Volupte lipsticks have the spotlight tonight! Everything a girl could possibly want out of a lipstick. These little sticks of joy have become popular among many beauty bloggers / vloggers, YouTubers etc. The gold bullet tube with the iconic YSL emblem makes for a stylish decorative feature to display on any vanity table with its classic, chic design.

The lipsticks are pretty pricey retailing for around £25 each however, not too overboard in my opinion considering the quality and amount you get (4.0g). You defiantly get what you pay for with these lipsticks. If you have a Luxury Beauty Store near you it's worth while checking in there every now and again as  they tend to get limited edition and discontinued products and charge a fraction of the price.

YSL have an amazing range of lipsticks and shades (I wanna try them all!). There are different variations of the Rouge Volupte, I have the original and shine at the moment.

Rouge Volupte - No. 13 (Peach Passion) No. 11 (limited edition)

Rouge Volupte Shine -  No. 13 (Pink in Paris)

Personally, both original and shine Rouge Volupte lipsticks have a beautiful finish and a smooth texture when applied. The original Rouge Volupte has a slight sheen but nothing too glossy or sparkly, they are also extremely pigmented which means that you won't use / waste as much product. Just as the name suggests the Rouge Volupte Shine definitely leaves a more glossy finish to the lips but doesn't feel sticky. Both kinds have a fruity scent that is almost like watermelon, it is noticeable and lasts just about as long as you have the lipstick on.

The longevity of the lipsticks isn't too bad, obviously if you are eating and drinking you might have to touch up around the centre of your lips. Touching up lipstick doesn't bother me too much as it leaves me with a good excuse to look at my lipstick haha (such a victim I know).

Overall, I absolutely love these lipsticks and will most likely be adding more colours to my collection.

Have you tried any of these lipsticks, if so, what's your ultimate favourite shade?
