Makeup Revolution // Blush Palette's

  A   M A K E U P   R E V O L U T I O N

Well hello there! Let's jump right into this post because there is a lot of images to go through. I just had to have these new Makeup Revolution blush palette's. I've seen a couple of blog posts showing off these amazing palette's and knew I had to pick them up. They only cost £6.00 each, you can purchase them at any participating Superdrug stores on the highstreet, Superdrug Online and Makeup Revolution Online . I bought mines from the Superdrug on Princes Street, Edinburgh.

A little bit about the brand ... Makeup Revolution is a new, London based makeup brand, launched earlier this year they produce excellent quality cosmetics at very affordable prices, starting at only £1. With more than 300 products to choose from your are sure to find something truly amazing. What they say ...

"We Are PASSION"
"We Are SHADE. For everyone skin tone, and all of the shades!"
"We Are INCLUSIVE. Anyone and Everyone can join the REVOLUTION"
"We Are FAST & INNOVATIVE"
"We Are NEW PRODUCTS…NEW ..NEW..NEW!"
"We Are PROFESSIONAL"
"We Are CRUELTY FREE"
"We Are AFFORDABLE"
"We Are a REVOLUTION"

Okay, now onto the palette's. I picked up the only two that are available so far, Hot Spice and Sugar & Spice. I was surprised by the quality of these palette's, they have a nice weight to them and look nice and sleek with a glossy black finish. The palette's came in their own individual outer box which was sealed. Bonus! For me, this is a great feature because you know that your palette hasn't been tampered with or swatched. Inside they come complete with 8 different blush colours including 1 baked blush and 1 baked highlighter.
Unfortunately my swatch pictures didn't turn out so well but here are some pictures of both palette's:

Both palette's are extremely pigmented and have very strong colour pay off when applied. Be careful of how much you use. The harshness of colour may perhaps be a slight let down if I am being honest. You have to make sure you blend these colours right in otherwise they will look like you have waaaaay to much blusher on!

Nevertheless, I think these palette's are great for people who are either, just starting out with makeup or like me, a complete cosmetic fiend that just can't help herself when it comes to exciting new makeup.

Let me know if you have tried anything from Makeup Revolution and what you think of their products.

Label.M // Brightening Blonde Balm

H e l l o  B l o n d i e !

Hi guys! Thanks for stopping by my blog. Well it's Sunday night, which means it's Monday tomorrow. In light of that joyous news let me tell you what I think of this exciting new product from Label.m.

Label.m is a relatively new brand brought to us by Toni Mascolo and Sacha Mascolo-Tarbuck, part of the massive fashion hair care brand Toni & Guy. Label.m is also a creative, fashion inspired, award winning hair care range.

"Our mission is to inspire and nurture creativity and individuality in our professional stylists and clients around the world" - Toni & Guy Website

I bought this the other day during my routine highlighting session at the hairdressers. I was immediately drawn to this product as it was on display right next to where I was sitting, they always do that eh? So, this product claims to strengthen and smooth out blonde highlights. It is suppose to keep your blonde hair looking fresher for longer, the smoother your hair looks the more vibrant your hair will appear.

I think Label.m may have a range for other hair colours, be sure to check the website or pop into your local salon for more info on that. For now though, this product is for my fellow blondes out there.

Application guidelines say to apply one pump of this product to damp hair and comb through. I love using my Tangle Teaser. I had this product used on my hair at the salon then just decided to buy it. I've run out of my (current fav) Moroccan Oil at the moment so I figured this could be a good replacement, plus it was half the price of the oil!

I have been using this for a couple of days now and I have to say my hair feels a lot smoother and appears to have a nice shine through it. I have blonde hair naturally but get slices of a pre-lightner put through it to keep it looking nice and bright and fresh. I really like this 'balm', it is banana yellow in colour and has quite a nice fresh scent to it. I like that the packaging is nice and small and has a secure sturdy lid and pump. You get 100ml of product which is just great, if you use one pump (depending on the length of your hair) at a time then this should last you quite a long time.

I love trying out new hair products, I reckon you should change your hair care routine up a bit now and again. Label.m was introduced to me a while ago now but I am just getting around to experimenting with different products from their line. Also, another reason to maybe give this a try, I was informed that the majority of the stylists at my salon prefer Label.m products to Tigi.

LOREAL // Color Riche Monos

H E L L O !

I hope everyone is well, I feel like I haven't blogged in ages! Today I thought I'd share with  you my swatches and thoughts on the new Color Riche Monos from Loreal. I picked these up a couple of weeks back so I've had time to play about with them. I only bought two of the colours because to be honest, I was a bit sceptical.

I purchased mines from Boots and managed to get a Buy 1 get 1 half price deal but you can find these almost anywhere. I decided to get two neutral shades so that I could try them out on a daily basis. Can I just say I found it a little bit of a challenge photographing these eyeshadows as they have a very shiny, reflective, metallic gold front (fingerprint heaven). All part of blogging fun I guess!

First of all, these eyeshadows retail for £5.49 each which isn't bad actually, considering you often get great offers with Loreal they end up being even cheaper! I opted for two shades from the Nude selection:

200 - Over The Taupe
206 - Little Beige Dress

Yankee Candles #1

Yankee Doodle!

Hey lovely readers ! Some of you may have noticed that my blog has been undergoing some serious changes over the past few weeks, I have been playing around with various styling trying to decide what I want my blog to look like. I think I have finalised my blog layout now minus some small things here and there. Anyways I wanted to show you these Yankee Candles I purchased recently which were an absolute bargain!

A couple of weeks ago Clinton Cards (UK) had special offers on on all of their Yankee Candles:

Offer 1 - 25% off all Yankee Candles
Offer 2 - 3 for 2

If you are no stranger to Yankee Candles you will appreciate how much of a steal this was. I purchased three of the large jars (623g each) for under £30 - Pink Dragon Fruit, Turquoise Sky and Wild Fig. I couldn't resist this great buy and thought I would share with you all. I'm not sure if you can still get this offer but Clinton always tend to have some kind of offer on. Check your local store and online.

Pink Dragon Fruit (Fruit Collection) - The ultimate girly, fruity, fresh, clean smell. My favourite Yankee scent of the bunch, if you haven't tried this one then I highly recommend giving it a go you'll love it!

Turquoise Sky (Fresh Collection) - If you love smells like Clean Cotton or Fluffy Towels you are bound to fall in love with this one, it's fresh but soothing at the same time. It has a rich luxurious blend and perfect for a sitting area.

Wild Fig - Okay, this is a new fragrance from Yankee. I wouldn't say it smells exactly like fig, I mean you do smell it a little but it reminds me of Autumn and cold winter nights. I can imagine being all cosy in my house on a cold winters evening with this burning in the background.

I've been buying Yankee Candles for a while now and having tried several other brands and scents these have to be the best ones yet. The large jars actually burn for weeks, they last a very long time so even at the original price of £19.99 you still get your moneys worth. One thing to keep in mind about these candles is making sure that your wick is kept nice and short so that the candle can burn evenly without producing nasty black smoke. Also keep your jar clean so that the candle stays nice and bright when lit.

That is my Yankee Candle set for now, if you have any questions please just ask.
Thanks for stopping by!

MAC Lipstick: Pink Pearl POP

Hello Everyone!! Well it is another bright sunny day here in bonny Scotland so after this I might just laze about in the sunshine for a while. As I am now officially off work for 11 days I am treating myself to a little manicure, my nails are actually long for a change.

I had a back to MAC last week and decided to get this lipstick which I was immediately drawn to. It is such a pretty pink for summer and I have nothing like this in my collection so I thought it would be a good little addition. Unfortunately, during the making of this blog post I broke it! DA DA DAAAAA!!! Gutted. Anyways it is still very much usable, I just stuck the actual lipstick back into the tube I will have to be extra carful when using it.

As this lipstick is too pretty not to share I thought I would show it to you with some swatches, enjoy...

As you can see this lipstick is very shimmery and had a slight sparkle imbedded which I find quite unusual for a cream sheen texture. The swatch picture doesn't actually do this product much justice as it appears much brighter on the lips. If you would like to see more of these quick little posts please let me know.

It's a Coral Thing ...

Hello again! Whilst my lil blog is under some serious reconstruction I thought I would fire up some short posts so I don't fall behind. Coral is everywhere these days, from clothing to makeup. I love this colour so I have collected some of my favourite coral things to show you. Just to mention, this colour ranges from neon coral to paler shades.

First of all let me mention this orange Yankee Candle - Medium Jar £15.99. If you don't like fruity smells maybe stay away from this but I think this is the perfect scent for summer for a bedroom (where I keep mines) or living area. It is really fragrant as it has orange, strawberry and lime notes, it is the ultimate summer candle! Im not sure if this scent is limited edition but you can get it right now.

Places to buy Yankee Candle: Yankee Stores and online, Debenhams, House Of Fraser, John Lewis, Halmark, Clinton Cards. If you shop around you can often get money off.

Makeup! So I have been loving two blushes at the moment they both give a nice sun kissed peachy glow to the skin, both blend well and are not to shimmery.

NARS Gina Blush - £22.50
MAC Peaches Blush - £18.00

Coral lips for summer is an absolute must! There are lots of variations of coral shades but just find the one that suits your skin tone best, for me, the brighter the better.

MAC Lip Pencil in Ablaze - £12.00
Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Audacious (245) - £7.99

Swatches: Top - Revlon, Bottom - MAC

Thanks for stopping by my blog, I know the photo quality is not the best but you get the genuine idea (New camera coming soon). So what is your favourite coral lip colour for summer?
